Prenatal Care

Prenatal Care or OB (Obstetrics) Care is that division of medicine that gives care for pregnant women as they progress through the stages of pregnancy and childbirth. Taking care of your body is important for the proper growth and development of your new baby, as well as your own. Usually, prenatal office visits will begin around 8 weeks of gestation, but it is imperative to practice healthy habits of diet and exercise even before conception. Great care will continue for mom in the weeks after she gives birth.

Every choice you make for your health will play into the development and outlook for your child. This includes balanced nutrition, regular exercise, and avoidance of tobacco, alcohol, and drugs. Quality OB care will include measures and interventions that treat and prevent potential health issues in pregnancy and prepare for an optimal childbirth.
