Thanksgiving Family Activities

Good friends and family make all the difference in an individuals health and happiness. Investing in these relationships now, returns happiness now and in the future. Below are 3 activities prepared for families to help you enjoy this season, get away from the screens, and enjoy each other and the great outdoors at a good rate.

  1.  Christmas Tree Harvesting on Forest Service Land. The items that will help you along this journey include, but are not limited to:
    • Hand Saw
    • Tarp (prevents scratching on your car)
    • Rope (attach it to your car)
    • A bag filled with moisture attached to the base of the tree (the tree is alive

  3. Hot Springs – When the cold sets in our valley, Idaho has wonderful hot springs that create the perfect ambiance to relax and enjoy some time with those you love while helping your body feel great! Within one hours drive, you can find a half of a dozen public or completely natural hot springs.
  4. Commercial natural hot springs include: 

    Non-Commercial natural hot springs are off the beaten path, and offer beautiful adventures. However, enter at your own risk.

  6. One of the most popular groomed trails in Idaho is found at Harriman State Park. Harriman offers wildlife, trees, clean air, and an overall quiet beauty with 25 miles of groomed trail. Renting costs are minimal, common rental locations include the Sled Shed and BYUI Outdoor Resource Center.
